Field Construction App
UX/UI Case Study
The Field Construction App is an app that you can use onsite that allows the user to collect and review site data in the field which can then be synced to an online database. I was asked to update the design and functionality of the app back in late 2018 and worked on this project for a few months iterating designs and working with the developers to come up with designs that would work and overall benefit the end-users.

The challenge:
This project needed to be done using Xcode which I had no experience in at all but I quickly learned how to use the software. This project was also done quite early into my career, there are things in it that I would change now if I had the chance.

Role:
My role was to research best practices for apps like this and do some competitive benchmarking, and create a high-fidelity prototype in Xcode.
UI Design Process
Research:
I conducted a competitive benchmark of competitors and similar products in the industry. After this I created a moodboard of designs that I liked. I sat down with the stakeholders and we discussed what designs they liked and what they wanted to be changed.

Prototype & Conclusion:
After I created some mockups and design ideas, I created the prototype in Xcode. When the design was finalized, I created a wireframe to handover to the developers. I learned a lot from this project and ideally I would have liked to go further in depth with the UX of this project to validate design changes. Stakeholders were happy with the design and users were also pleased with the design.
